What are same-day crowns?

Same-day crowns are custom ceramic restorations designed, milled, and placed in a single appointment. A digital scan of your tooth replaces the traditional putty impression, and the crown is fabricated right here in the office using our CEREC milling system. No temporary crown and no second visit needed.

Will my restoration look natural?

Yes. Modern materials like porcelain, ceramic, and zirconia are shade-matched and shaped to blend with your existing teeth. Whether it’s a filling, crown, or bridge, the restoration is designed to be virtually indistinguishable from the natural teeth around it.

How long do crowns and fillings typically last?

With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, fillings generally last 10 to 15 years and crowns can last 15 years or longer. The lifespan depends on the material used, the location in your mouth, and how well you maintain your overall dental health.

Does restorative treatment hurt?

Dr. Steven Gigli earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Idaho State University in Meridian. During his residency, he fell in love with Idaho and met his wife Jill, a proud Idaho native who made staying an easy choice.

With advanced training from the Texas Implant Institute and Full Arch Club, Dr. Gigli has placed over 400 dental implants and completed more than 50 full arch restorations. His passion for digital dentistry and life-changing implant care drove him to build The Dome Dentistry & Implants, a practice where every patient receives the time and attention they truly deserve.

Dr. Gigli is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Idaho State Dental Association, and High Desert Sage Study Club. Outside the office, he and Jill recently welcomed their first baby girl. Their two dogs, Chapman and Belle, keep life wonderfully full. You’ll find him snowboarding, dirt biking, camping, or cheering on the Chargers.
