Do Any of These Sound Familiar?

Living with widespread dental problems affects far more than your mouth. These challenges show up in daily moments, and recognizing them is often the first step toward doing something about it.
  • Struggling to chew comfortably: Eating has become painful or difficult
  • Hiding your smile in photos: Self-consciousness holds you back
  • Constant discomfort or soreness: Ongoing pain disrupts daily life
  • Avoiding social situations: You pull back to avoid embarrassment
  • Noticing things getting worse: Deterioration continues without treatment
  • Skipping foods you love: Your diet shrinks around your limitations
  • You are not alone in feeling this way. Many patients come to us after years of managing these challenges, and real solutions do exist.

    What Happens When Treatment Waits

  • Bone Loss Advances

Bone and tissue continue to deteriorate, reducing the options available later.

  • More Teeth at Risk

Neighboring teeth absorb uneven pressure and weaken over time.

  • Treatment Grows Larger

What starts as a manageable plan expands in scope with each delay.

  • Costs Increase Over Time

Conditions that compound require more extensive work to correct.

  • Fewer Options Remain

Some restorative paths close when damage reaches a certain point.

  • Years Pass Without Relief

Daily discomfort and self-consciousness accumulate with every month.

  • Starting sooner means a simpler path to the outcome you want.

What Is Full Mouth Reconstruction, Exactly?

Full mouth reconstruction is a comprehensive treatment approach that addresses damage, decay, or loss across multiple teeth at once. Rather than treating individual teeth in isolation, it combines restorative procedures into a single coordinated plan. The goal is to rebuild function, structure, and appearance across your entire smile using a combination of solutions suited to your specific condition. This may include crowns, dental implants (permanent tooth replacements), bridges, or other restorative work depending on what your teeth need.

At The Dome Dentistry and Implants, full mouth reconstruction in Mountain Home begins with advanced 3D imaging and a thorough assessment, so every decision is grounded in precision. We build your treatment plan around your anatomy, your goals, and your timeline. Technology like CBCT scanning and digital impressions allows us to plan with a level of detail that was not possible with older methods, which means better outcomes and fewer surprises throughout your care.

  • Treatment combines multiple restorative procedures into one coordinated plan
  • Advanced 3D imaging guides every step of the planning process
  • Results are designed to restore both function and long-term structural health
  • Transformations That Last

Watch real patients share how their dental journey restored not just their smiles, but their quality of life. These personal stories capture the relief and joy that come with comprehensive, caring treatment.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Patients often wonder whether their situation qualifies, and the answer is broader than most expect. Full mouth reconstruction is designed for a wide range of conditions, from significant decay to extensive tooth loss to years of deferred treatment. If multiple teeth need attention, you may be a strong candidate.
  • Have significant decay, damage, or missing teeth across multiple areas of your mouth
  • Currently using dentures or partials that no longer fit or function well
  • Want to address years of dental problems through one coordinated plan
  • Have been told you need extensive work and want to understand all available options
  • Are ready to restore full function and feel genuinely confident in your smile again
  • Not Sure Whether You Qualify?

Many patients are surprised by how well full mouth reconstruction fits their situation. A consultation gives us the chance to evaluate your teeth, review your goals, and walk you through which options are well-suited for your specific needs.

What to Expect During Full Mouth Reconstruction

Many patients tell us they felt nervous before their first appointment and left wondering why they waited so long. Every step of your reconstruction is designed around your comfort, your timeline, and your outcome.
    1

    Comprehensive Assessment

Your process begins with a thorough evaluation using our CBCT 3D imaging system, intraoral scanner, and a detailed review of your dental and health history. You'll leave this appointment with a clear picture of what your teeth need and what options are available. No guesswork, no pressure.

    2

    Personalized Treatment Planning

Based on your imaging and goals, we build a fully customized reconstruction plan that sequences each procedure for efficiency and comfort. We walk you through every step before anything begins. You'll know what to expect, what each phase accomplishes, and how long the overall timeline will take. Questions are always encouraged.

    3

    Restorative Treatment Phases

Reconstruction unfolds in carefully sequenced phases, prioritizing the most urgent needs first. Depending on your plan, this may include implant placement, crown delivery, bridge work, or other restorations. Sedation options are available throughout, and same-day CEREC technology allows certain restorations to be completed in a single visit.

    4

    Healing and Monitoring

Between phases, your mouth heals and adapts. We schedule check-ins to monitor progress, confirm everything is responding well, and adjust the plan as needed. For implant-based cases, osseointegration (the process where implant posts fuse with your jawbone) occurs during this phase, building the stable foundation your final restorations will sit on.

    5

    Final Restorations and Reveal

Once healing is confirmed, your permanent restorations are placed and refined for fit, bite, and appearance. You'll see your completed smile and experience full function restored. Most patients describe this appointment as genuinely life-changing.

    Recovery After Full Mouth Reconstruction

Most patients find recovery much more manageable than they anticipated. Because reconstruction unfolds in phases, you are never recovering from everything at once, which makes the process far more comfortable than most people expect.

    First 24-48 Hours

Some mild swelling and tenderness after each procedure phase is normal and expected. Rest, soft foods, and any prescribed or over-the-counter relief will help significantly. Most patients return to light daily activities within a day or two following each appointment.

    First 1-2 Weeks

Swelling and sensitivity continue to reduce throughout the first week. You'll transition toward softer foods as directed, and most patients notice steady improvement each day. Keeping treatment areas clean with the guidance we provide supports healing and reduces the chance of complications.

    Long-Term Healing

For implant-based portions of your reconstruction, osseointegration occurs gradually over several months. This phase is largely passive for you. Regular check-ins allow us to confirm progress and ensure your permanent restorations are placed at the right time.

Every patient heals at their own pace, and your recovery plan will be tailored to your specific procedures and health profile. Our team remains accessible throughout your entire healing process so you always know where to turn with questions.

    Full Mouth Reconstruction FAQs

Deciding to pursue full mouth reconstruction is a significant step, and it is natural to have questions before moving forward. We have gathered the ones patients ask most often to help you feel informed and confident as you consider your options.

How is full mouth reconstruction different from a smile makeover?

Full mouth reconstruction is driven by function and health. It addresses structural damage, decay, bone loss, and tooth loss using restorative treatments. A smile makeover focuses on cosmetic improvements to a mouth that is already structurally sound. Many reconstructions include cosmetic improvements, but restoring health and function always comes first.
Timelines vary considerably depending on how many teeth are involved and which procedures are needed. Some cases are completed over a few months. Cases involving implants typically take longer due to healing phases between steps. During your consultation, we’ll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific plan.
In most cases, temporary restorations are placed so you are never left without functional teeth. Treatment sequencing is planned carefully to minimize any period of inconvenience. Your ability to function and feel comfortable throughout the process is a priority in how we structure your plan.
Discomfort between phases is typically mild and manageable. Sedation options are available during procedures to keep you comfortable throughout treatment. Most patients are surprised by how well they tolerate each appointment and describe recovery as easier than they expected going in.
Age alone is rarely a barrier. The more relevant factors are overall health, bone density, and the condition of your gums and remaining teeth. Patients across a wide age range successfully complete reconstruction. Your consultation gives us everything we need to evaluate what is possible for your specific situation.
Dental anxiety is very common, and we plan for it. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are both available and can be used across multiple phases of your reconstruction. Many patients with significant anxiety complete their full treatment comfortably once the right approach is in place from the start.
Your treatment plan is built entirely from your imaging, clinical exam, and personal goals. After your assessment, we’ll explain exactly which procedures are recommended, why each one is included, and what alternatives exist. Nothing moves forward until you understand and agree with the plan.
Longevity depends on which restorations are included and how well they are maintained over time. Implants and crowns can last decades with proper care. Consistent cleanings and exams are the single most important factor in protecting your investment long-term.
Because every case is different, costs vary based on the number of teeth involved and the procedures required. Payment options are available to help make treatment accessible. We’ll provide a full breakdown during your consultation so you can plan ahead with confidence.
The first step is a comprehensive exam that includes 3D imaging and a full review of your dental health. From there, we build your personalized plan and walk you through it completely before any treatment begins. There is no pressure to commit on the day of your consultation.
